This 8 hour class provides basic tactical medicine training to the prepared citizen. The course follows national standards in trauma and prehospital emergency medical care, and is taught by Nationally Certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructors with backgrounds as Paramedics, EMT's, and Navy Corpsman. This course has also been reviewed and approved by MRTI's Medical Director; who is currently employed as an Emergency Medicine Physician.
Some of the topics this class covers include:
- Hemorrhage Control with Tourniquets
- Improvising Tourniquets
- Hemorrhage Control by Wound Packing
- Various Bandaging Techniques
- Basic Airway Management
- Chest, Torso and Pelvic Injuries
- Patient Movement
While MRTI firmly believes this type of training should supplement CPR as a requirement for all members of the public, this course is especially important for any prepared citizen, firearms or sports shooting enthusiast, hunter, teacher, or any member of the public working in an area with a high risk for potential violence.
MRTI will provide all medical training supplies and will also assist students in purchasing or building a medical kit of their own.
